Our incredible president Nancy is extremely dedicated to everything she does, and we are so lucky to have her heading up MADSOC this year! She’s constantly smiling and laughing all day long and don’t be surprised if she greets you with a hug (Covid safe of course!). You’ll most likely spot her luscious locks in the library or on campus, as she spends most of her days working and studying for her honours project. Like everything else she does, Nancy puts 110% into her dancing and performance, and we are all so grateful for her kindness, organisation, and leadership this year.
vice president - vanessa di tano
BACHELOR OF APPLIED SCIENCE (EXERCISE & SPORTS SCIENCE) III
With her cheer squad and hardcore cardio sessions to back her, our incredible VP Vanessa has the enthusiasm and energy to keep MADSOC thriving. Vanessa is always prepared for a spotlight and dance floor as she slays moves from urban through to contemporary. Don’t be fooled by her tough appearance, this fun-loving girl doesn’t have a mean bone in her body and can sweep you off your feet with her anatomy-related pick-up lines. We are very lucky to have such a kind and inclusive leader for our society in 2021.
secretary - ELENA PETROU
BACHELOR OF EDUCATION (EARLY CHILDHOOD) III
Now this is someone you really don’t want to mess with (all jokes aside, she is honestly so sweet). Alongside her organised and assertive boss-self is her ability to lift weights and find time to educate people about social justice and inclusivity. Although she started dancing with ballet, her love for improvisation has led her to revisit her choices and reach for contemporary. But don’t let her fierceness scare you as she is also the biggest animal lover (seriously you need to drag her away sometimes) and if you want to find a dedicated Harry Potter fan she is the person to talk to (for me, her HP tattoo says a thousand words). :)
TREASURER - SARAH NAJJAR
BACHELOR OF ECONOMICS III
Meet Sarah, an actual QUEEN at everything, including of course handling the CASH MONEYZZ with her amazing spreadsheets. Along with being super smart and organised, Sarah is a super kind soul and is always such a blast to be around. Oh, and we can’t go without mentioning what an absolute BOSS dancer she is (at basically every single style as well!). Sarah takes control of the stage like a true pro, her passion and precision in her movements shines on stage like no other (I mean, did you see her in Nexus!!!).
media and marketing officer - ALICIA WONG

Our aesthetic and organised queen, Alicia, is in charge of all our social media. When she’s not making the prettiest study notes for her degree in Science/Med, you’ll find Alicia at the beach or having brunch with friends. You can also spot her on stage in our major productions rocking any jazz dances. She even learnt all her choreography for our recent production Nexus online!
event coordinator - TASHA WUN
BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (INFECTIOUS DISEASE) & MASTER OF NURSING IV
Tasha is MADSOC’s wonderful party planner aka events coordinator and she’s got plenty of experience in our society. She directed our amazing 2020 minor production ‘Chapters’ all while studying her Bachelor of Science, which she majored in Infectious Diseases! She is now going into her final year of her Master’s of Nursing, which is perfect as she’s our very own nurse, always prepared by carrying bandaids and panadol everywhere she goes (very handy for rehearsals with floor work hehe). Although very competitive, our dog-loving Tasha is sure to give you a warm welcome when you join our society.
PERFORMANCE COORDINATOR - LARA HOUEN

Meet our stunning performance coordinator Lara! Lara is our resident Samba queen who although new to the style has become an absolute pro! spicing up MADSOC with some killer Samba moves. Lara is also a bad-ass tapper who has the best attention to detail and organisational skills, making her perfect for coordinating those amazing MADSOC performances. When she isn't dancing Lara is likely with animals as a final-year Animal and Veterinary Bioscience student *holds back tears bc its Lara’s last year in MADSOC*. Lara is a hilarious and kind treasure and we’re so happy to have her on board the MADSOC team this year :)
CLASS COORDINATOR - ANNA MICHAEL

Anna certainly knows how to coordinate classes with ease! As well as being a timetabling queen, she is also super smart and has a bright and bubbly personality that will put a smile on anyone’s face! Oh, and did we forget to mention she is AMAZING at ballet? An all-round talented girl! We are very lucky to have Anna on board with us this year.
PRODUCTION LIAISON OFFICER - ISABELLA DAVEY

Meet our production liaison officer (for the second time), Bella. When not studying for Animal Science or stressing over placement, you can probably find our jazz/girl style queen having a groove somewhere. Not only does she have amazing dance moves, but also is our resident hype girl with her banging playlists. We are so honoured to have this bubbly, kind and talented dancer/choreographer in MADSOC once again.
GENERAL EXECUTIVE - JULIA NIE
BACHELOR OF ARTS & Bachelor of ADVANCED STUDIES (INTERNATIONAL & GLOBAL STUDIES) II
Julia is one of our general executives this year and she is one of the kindest and caring souls you’ll ever meet! She started learning dance in traditional Chinese dance and moved to ballet. You can find her multi-tasking her way through life, whether that be through her many involvements in university societies or exploring new food places, she’s always buzzing around doing something!!
GENERAL EXECUTIVE - ALICE LU

Meet Alice, a general executive member of the MADSOC team for this year! When she isn't studying Chemistry or Biology, you can find her having a boogie in dance class (a self-taught dancer can you believe it?!) or chilling at the beach. She is multi-talented with a love of painting and aims to do a Masters of Teaching in the future.
